The increased worry over physical illness striking themselves or their child, concern over the world situation, as well as isolation and less available family/friend help has taken a toll on new parents. A study conducted by the University of Alberta found that ” the number of women reporting symptoms of maternal depression has increased to 41 percent compared to 15 percent before the outbreak began.”
