Dr. Berger received her B.A in psychology from the University of California, San Diego, where she published articles regarding social behavior. She received her Ph.D. in clinical psychology with an emphasis in health psychology from the California School of Professional Psychology. Her research during her graduate work focused on anxiety disorders, particularly panic disorder. In addition to completing a full time internship approved by the American Psychological Association (APA) at the Medical College of Georgia, Dr. Berger has had several years of specific training in Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT). She also completed a postdoctoral appointment at Mercy hospital in San Diego.

Over the years, Dr. Berger has taught classes in CBT and social theory at the graduate level. In addition to her private practice, Dr. Berger has also served on the Board of Directors for the San Diego Postpartum Health Alliance. She currently remains active in the organization and lectures to physicians, health care workers, and new parents on the importance of early assessment and subsequent treatment for people with postpartum disorders. Her professional focus has been on anxiety disorders, perinatal and postpartum mood and anxiety disorders, and life transitions, such as graduating from college, job changes, empty nest issues, grieving, growing older, and physiological changes in women. She currently provides therapy for a range of individual, couples, and family issues.
